Community Guidelines
These Community Guidelines explain how to use hooeychat.com safely and respectfully. They are incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using Hooeychat, you agree to follow these rules.
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Reporting violations
Use the in-app report and block tools when another user violates these guidelines. For escalations, use Help & support or email support@hooeychat.com with the subject line Complaint.
Reports may include context such as the reported username, reason, and relevant details from the interaction. We review reports in our discretion and may warn, restrict, or ban accounts.
Users who receive multiple substantiated complaints in a short period may be automatically restricted or banned. By using Hooeychat, you agree to this reporting and enforcement process. Other users may report you as well — do not retaliate with the same misconduct; report violations instead.
Respectful behavior
Hooeychat is for meeting new people — not for hostility. The following is forbidden:
- Using obscene or abusive language toward other users
- Insulting, harassing, bullying, or threatening anyone
- Discriminating against others based on race, religion, nationality, gender, age, appearance, or similar characteristics
- Making obscene gestures or displaying widely offensive symbols
Sexual and obscene conduct
Random video chat must stay appropriate for a public setting. The following is forbidden on camera and in stranger chat:
- Appearing nude, in underwear only, or exposing intimate body parts
- Pointing the camera at body areas below the chest, even when clothed
- Sexually provocative gestures, poses, or offers of virtual sex
- Sexually explicit words, slang, emojis, or combinations meant to imply sexual meaning
- Asking others to undress or expose themselves
Authentic live video
Other users expect to see you live on camera. The following is forbidden:
- Pointing the camera at a screen, photo, illustration, drawing, or printed/handwritten text
- Using webcam emulators, virtual avatars, masks, filters, or other tools that replace or hide your live appearance
- Streaming unrelated content such as TV, games, or third-party video instead of face-to-face conversation
Spam and promotion
Stranger chat is not for advertising. The following is forbidden:
- Sending promotional messages, links, or social profile solicitations
- Spamming the same message to multiple users
- Asking users to like, subscribe, vote, visit a site, or perform other online actions for you
- Manipulating engagement or using the Service for unauthorized commercial purposes
Age restrictions
Hooeychat is adults only.
- Anyone under 18 may not use the Service, even with parental consent or supervision
- If you believe another user is under 18, report them immediately using in-app tools
Device and account responsibility
You are responsible for what is transmitted from your device and account.
- Letting others use Hooeychat on your device or account without ensuring they follow these rules
- Using bots, scripts, plugins, or other external tools to modify how the Service works without our written permission
- Using software that harms users, compromises security, or infringes rights
Recommendations for a better experience
Following these tips helps you avoid uncomfortable situations and enforcement action:
- Keep your face visible and well lit so others can see who they are talking to.
- Dress as you would for a public conversation — inappropriate attire can lead to enforcement action.
- Check what your camera captures before and during a call, including when switching cameras.
- Disconnect when you step away instead of leaving a connected call unattended.
- Do not share sensitive personal information unless you accept the risks.
- Report rule violations — do not respond with the same misconduct.
- An unintentional or brief violation can still result in a ban.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Check this page periodically. Continued use of Hooeychat after changes are posted means you accept the updated guidelines. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the full legal agreement.
